what’s so great about the bailout? I don’t think it’s a bad thing it didn’t pass. the big institutional players exert far, far more influence on wall st than any individual players for the most part (even the collective individuals, I would imagine). so I think what happened with the Dow today is they’re basically saying to the govt., “we are going to shit our pants and scream until you give us what we want, we will even shit in our own bed until this is fixed.”
of course, it ends up affecting individuals like me who have money in the stock market. AAPL has lost 1/3 of it’s value this month, and I’m not going to lie — I’m hurting from it. all the same, I think they’re intentionally working the market into a frenzy in order to get people even more panicked and rushed to pass this thing. I don’t think it has any real bearing on the actual state of the economy — just the emotional state.
so fuck them, they can shit in their bed all they want.
