New McCain Ad Almost As Contemptuous As McCain’s Debate Performance

What’s the Message Here? If you agree with John McCain You’re Not Fit to Lead This Country?

So, the message of the ad is: Barack Obama is not ready to lead because he thinks John McCain has some good ideas?

On the heels of the release of this ad, the NYTIMES writes:

The first presidential debate could not have come at a better time. We were afraid that the serious question of picking a new president in a time of peril, at home and abroad, was going to disappear in a fog of sophomoric attack ads, substance-free shouting about change and patriotism, and unrelenting political posturing.

Don’t Worry, NYTIMES… the “sophomoric attack ads, substance-free shouting about change and patriotism, and unrelenting political posturing” is back.

UPDATE:

Finally, someone in the media is calling out McCain for this worthless ad:

From the Washington Post:

As the McCain team rushed out a Web ad featuring Obama repeatedly saying McCain was right about this or that, Fox’s Sean Hannity, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews and other TV hosts picked up the point — a twist that left Obama press secretary Linda Douglass shaking her head.

“I can’t believe that anyone is criticizing someone, in this hyperpartisan environment, for being gracious enough to acknowledge where there are areas of agreement,” the former ABC correspondent said. “I find it surprising that journalists would be raising questions about a candidate who is capable of acknowledging that his opponent has a point.”

Then she pivoted to how Obama had won a “commanding victory” on “John McCain’s home turf.”

  1. This is a really lame ad. And coming after all the others in this style, it doesn’t have the same effect.

  2. That is a stupid and childish ad. It only shows that the McCain camp doesn’t know what it means to be adult about things. It also shows how Obama is the bigger person and admits when someone else has a correct idea, nothing wrong about that. In fact, it shows that Obama actually listens! something McCain clearly is unable to do.
McCain keeps singing this “bipartisan/rach across the isle” song, yet to be able to “reach across the isle” one needs to be able to listen to those across the isle–just like Sen.Obama does consistently.
So, this ad only confirms that Obama IS ready to lead and McCain is a childish coward and a bully–his smirks and other retarded facial experssions prove the point further.

  3. Yes, according to John McCain, one should disagree 100% at all times with those of the opposite party, while at the same time touting your bipartisanship with Democrats. Don’t you understand and see the logic?
